Our Founder
Annie Slaughter Garner is the 8th of 13 children, a wife, and a mother of three adult sons. She a grandmother of one beautiful baby girl, and is also a mother-in-love to her daughter-in-law. She is a minister of the gospel, a mentor, a friend, and she is a Lupus survivor.
After seeing several doctors and long hospital stays, Annie was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis in 2003. She accepted this news with grace, not knowing that there was a dark road ahead.
Annie experienced not only physical pain and discomfort, but her mental anguish was on an all-time high. The realization was with her that without God, she wouldn’t make it through this illness.
After asking God many of times the question why, she realized that purpose was her portion. Not only could she minister to different ones through her testimony, but she also had ministry through her experience to impel people that they too, could live a victorious life with this disease. She knew that there was some way to give hope.
Her Reason
Annie had a pulling on the inside of her. A pulling that wouldn’t let go. As she continued to request for answers, God began to show her her heart. She realized, she had the heart to care for other survivors in the same way that care and love was shown to her. She wanted to provide help with medications and transportation to doctors appointments, help with bills, and house cleaning. She had the heart for those, who like her, wanted to give up on life so many times. She wanted to give hope. Opportunity came for The Annie Garner Foundation to begin, and she took it and ran with it. It's been running since 2018 until today.
